Did you know that spray foam insulation is the perfect insulating material to use for a deep energy retrofit?
Take, for example, a 104 year old home that’s been featured in the latest issue of Spray Foam Magazine. The owners wanted to restructure and enlarge the home while upgrading it to the latest code standard. Installing proper insulation was one of the most important aspects of this deep energy retrofit, and spray polyurethane foam insulation was the best choice for this job.
SPF was applied around the exterior of the foundation of the home as well as to its interior envelope. “The house is over 100 years old. After this retrofit application, it will last 100 years more,” said Patrick Godfrey of Voltaire Engineering after overseeing this project.
